Be your own private trainer
The players who get good are the ones who put in the hours on their own. Techne gives your player the plan, the reps, the record and the habit to do exactly that, every day, with plans from $9.99 a month. The player puts in the reps, and it shows at practice and in games.

What a session buys. What owning it gives.
There is a right time for a player to be watched and given detailed feedback, and that is a coach's job. We hope every player has one who does it. Techne is not a coach and gives no feedback on form. It gives the player everything else a private trainer brings: the plan, the reps, the goals, the record and the push to show up, and puts them in the player's own hands.
One private session
- One hour, one place, one day. Scheduled around the coach's week and the field's availability.
- Someone watching the reps. Correction in the moment. The strongest thing a coach offers.
- Then six days on their own. What the player does between sessions is up to them. That is where the hours are, and where Techne lives.
- A match for the player who has it. The best option for a player with the budget, the schedule and the coach nearby.
Your own trainer, every day
- Ten minutes, any day, anywhere. Backyard, living room, a wall, a parking lot. A ball and a phone or tablet are the equipment.
- The app sets the work and keeps score. Each session is a short video the player follows. The app times it, credits the touches and moves them up the ladder. It does not watch form or correct it. The results show up at practice and in games.
- Every skill, both feet. Ball mastery, passing, juggling, shooting, physical and mental training in one progression.
- The player owns it. Streaks, levels and real training socks for the work done. Practice becomes the player's own habit, not an appointment someone else keeps.
The arithmetic. One private session costs about the same as one to three months of Techne PRO, or four to twelve months of Techne Fundamentals. Ten focused minutes a day add up to more than 60 hours a year, and a coach's hour is worth more when the reps are already in the player's feet. Read more about what private soccer training costs.
Wherever they are, with whatever they have
These are real sessions from the app, and the number of players who have trained each one. None of them needs a field, a coach or anything more than a ball.
Living Room: Basics
62k+ players · soft-touch patterns in the space between the sofa and the TV.
Living Room: “Wall” Drills
36k+ players · passing and first touch against any wall, garage door or fence.
Dribbling: Ball Mastery
43k+ players · the foundation session of the Fundamentals ladder, backyard sized.
Mental Training: Basic Skills
42k+ players · the part of the game no field is needed for at all.
Why training yourself works
Skill is built by repetition the player chooses to do. Techne's job is to make the next ten minutes obvious, short and credited, so the choice gets made again tomorrow. Since 2017, more than 17,000 players have held a training streak of a week or longer.
A ladder, not a list
Fundamentals moves a player through five phases, each pairing dribbling with passing and juggling. The app logs every session, so the player can see each step they finish.
Both feet, every surface
Every pattern is trained right, left and alternating, with the inside, outside, sole and laces. The weaker foot gets the same work as the stronger one.
Progress the player can see
Levels, streaks and the Training Sock System turn the work into something the player and the family can watch grow. Coaches and clubs on Techne see it too.
Already have a coach? Good. This is the other six days.
Techne never replaces a person, and it never watches form. A private coach or a team coach sets the direction and gives the feedback. Techne is where the player does the reps between sessions, so the next session starts further along. Since 2017, more than 1,500 clubs, colleges and schools have used Techne with their players: the coach sees who is doing the work, and the players arrive at practice with the touches already in their feet.
